"The greatest thrill for me as a songwriter is hearing my one voice, one guitar songs turned into musical masterpieces by these immensely talented and accomplished musicians."

Cindy G

"Jail Break" is a 12 song CD of mostly original songs, all penned by Cindy herself, except for one co-write with Ron Hall of NJ .... "Wilds of Wise County".   She included two bluegrass cover songs with arrangements by Ron Hall, the old Osborne Brother's classic "Ruby, Are You Mad" and "Sitting On Top of the World".

Her writing reflects mostly true stories, recalling local legends and folklore from anywhere she's been .... "Sounds of War" from a Lee County Virginia Civil War story, "Wilds of Wise County" from a Wise County Virginia ghost story, "Hexie" about the "Witch of the Hills" from Somerset County Pennsylvania, "Living Picture (The Story of the Mather Mine)", from Greene County Pennsylvania .... and even "Waiting For the Train" about a NYC subway train and Cindy's experiences while living in NYC.  Jim's vision just took this song over the top as far as rip-roaring bluegrass goes!

Other songs on the CD are older songs from Cindy's repertoire that weren't written as bluegrass songs, but Jim wanted to include just the same.  They came out beautiful and may fit Cindy's moniker, "Bluegrass Music With A Twist".  But there is plenty of "truegrass" ... "She Walks These Hills" is a gritty bluegrass song with a gripping story with a twisted plot.  The title cut "Jail Break" ... featuring Rhonda Vincent as a guest vocalist, is a bluegrass lover's anthem through and through and characterizes what bluegrass music is all about!
